Rachel Ritson – Managing Director

019946 693931 Ext 213

rachelritson@grisdales.co.uk

Rachel best describes her role as being the captain of the ship!  She makes sure the company is heading in the right direction, at the right speed and adjusting the coordinates as and when necessary.  Day to day work involves making sure our brand, systems and people are all working cohesively and in line with our company culture and values.  Her main priority is to ensure staff are engaged and enjoying their work, as happy staff means happy clients.

Prior to joining Grisdales, Rachel had her own accounts business working for a number of local companies, providing accounts and management information.  Before moving up to West Cumbria in 1996, Rachel worked for the international company Dupont, as part of the management accounts team in a litho plate manufacturing business.

Rachel joined Grisdales in 2000 as a part time accounts manager.  As the business grew so did her responsibilities, becoming more involved in the strategy of the firm and business infrastructure.  Over the years her day to day became heavily estate agency orientated.  By the end of 2014 Rachel was solely managing the business and became full owner in 2016.  Rachel is a member of the Association of Residential Lettings Agents, has qualifications in management having carried out the Women in Cumbria Taking The Lead programme, alongside a Level 4 qualification in Business Management. Rachel is continually developing and has been a member of The Property Academy since 2013, this included being part of the highly esteemed Leadership Summit programme in 2016 - Leadership Summit

Having three children, three step children, a grandaughter and another on the way, Rachel has a busy home life and loves nothing more than having everyone round for lots of craic!  She also loves to keep fit, running and walking the fells with Talli the terrier, and of course time with her husband Neil on weekends away to chill out and relax!

Her career with Grisdales began eight years ago, when she started working 3 days per week covering the accounting function, which has developed into the full-time position she now holds; which utilises many of her capabilities.

Nina likes a good walk, and she doesn’t mind where it is, but it helps if the dog can come too!  She also likes to try new experiences, including go karting, kite surfing and flying a gyrocopter… she’s even tried knitting!  Nina is currently studying with the Open University for her degree, which she hopes to finish within the next few years.  She has a husband, two children and a very large collie.

I am originally from Maryport however I now live in Workington with my soon to be husband and 3 year old daughter, who is full of life.  Most of my time is dedicated to my family, however I enjoy the occasional music concert, socialising with friends and crafting. I’ve taught myself to knit (however far from the professional) and have refurbished several small pieces of furniture.

I returned to college to study Business Management two years ago and I’m due to graduate soon.  Prior to this, I worked in the NHS as a receptionist, did 8 years in retail, briefly at Sellafield, done the occasional mystery shop and cleaned lodges in the Lake District.  Now I have finished my studies, I hope to be able to throw myself into revamping the stockpile of old furniture I have accumulated over the past 2 years.

Eileen is based at the Marketing Suite in High Harrington and is responsible for the sale of 80 properties which are under construction. (Grisdales being the selling agents for Washington Homes Ltd.)  Eileen moved there in August 2016 having spent nearly 3 years on site at Woodville Park in Cockermouth where 85 properties were built, with a further 15 at Moor Park Cockermouth.

Eileen has worked in retail selling food, DIY products (from screws to u-bends) and fancy goods.  Working in a DIY store has given Eileen an insight into house building, which she finds is useful as she is regularly asked about house construction and the finer details! Previously, Eileen also worked in the hospitality sector as assistant manager in a 3* hotel for 10 years before starting work for Grisdales over 6 years ago

Eileen lives in Cockermouth and has 2 grown up sons, the eldest lives locally and the younger in South Wales where she now has a grandson who was born in 2016.  She hopes that this year she will be able to visit them more.
