We’re always eager to get involved in the local community in every way we can to make our towns a better place to live. Moreover, these events often provide a great opportunity for our team to come together and do what we do best – teamwork! A favourite charity of ours is Hospice at Home West Cumbria which provides vital services to our local area. We’ve raised over £4000 by taking part in the Colour Run, Big Boss Car Wash and Christmas Jumper Day. We’re proud to say we also partnered with Flat Stan to help provide vital first aid sessions for local schools.
In 2021, we set ourselves a Team Grisdales Challenge; completing the world’s longest uninterrupted walk from Cape Town, South Africa to Magadan, Russia… all 13,910 miles. We did this virtually by converting the likes of walking, cycling, gardening, yoga and even cleaning to steps, all in a bid to clock up the miles.
For every 2,000 mile checkpoint we reached we donated £100 to a worthy local cause, as nominated by our team and the public. We’re very pleased to have helped the following fantastic charities:

We've also helped to raise vital funds for the superb charity that is Macmillan Cancer Support. To do this, our team came together to participate in Windermere’s annual Dragon Boat Race. Not only did we raise over £1,000 in sponsorship, we also bagged the title of Best Team Spirit on the day! Some of our team also took part in the Edinburgh half Marathon and the Race for Life taking our total monies raised for Macmillan over £2,000 to date.
It's a company tradition to put on our best Christmas jumpers each year in aid of a charity local to West Cumbria. The most recent being Hospice at Home West Cumbria where we were able to raise £54 on the day.
