Summer Holiday Family Fun

 

The school Summer holidays are well underway and the weather (so far) has been fantastic. The holidays can often provide a conundrum for parents when it comes to what to do with the kids. In this week’s blog we’ve got some helpful hints for events and attractions to take the kids to this summer.

 

Whinlatter Forest and Visitor Centre

Whinlatter offers up fun for all the family with a variety of different activities to get stuck in to. Whether it’s a peaceful walk, outdoor table tennis, a mountain biking circuit or a tree top adventure, you’ll need more than one visit to get through everything!

Lake District Coast Aquarium

A family favourite that’s been a popular attraction in West Cumbria for many years. With over 50 thanks showcasing an elaborate display of marine life, this educational but fun attraction can be a brilliant trip out. Their harborside café also boasts an exciting play area with added crazy golf. If that’s not enough, the café menu is full of family favourites!

Lake Walks

We really are spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing somewhere to go for a walk. It might not be every families cup of tea but it’s great to experience the natural beauty that is so easily accessible to us. There are variety of lake walks to complete in Cumbria, so you want to start off on something relatively small. Forest Walks

Similar to being spoilt choice for lakeside walks, we’re also spoilt for choice when it comes to woodland walks. Woodland walks can be great for children to run about and use up that endless energy that they seem to have. The Beacon Museum

A mainstay in Whitehaven that offers plenty of educational fun. There’s currently a Lego Dinosaur exhibit being showcased so if Lego or dinosaurs are of interest to your children, make your way down to The Beacon Museum! Find out more about the exhibit here: CLICK HERE

Workington Leisure Centre

Workington opened its new leisure centre back in 2016 and the centre has become a thriving location for physical activity.
