Melanie Wykes – Property Portfolio Co-ordinator

Mel is part of the lettings team at Cockermouth, looking after the portfolio of properties and their maintenance, repairs and refurbishments.  Mel also carries out inspections and check-outs whilst ensuring health and safety compliance for our properties.

Mel started her career as a graduate Hotel and Catering Manager at Marriott Hotels in London.  Working through various management roles in the field of hospitality led her more into Sales and Business Development.  She was  eventually able to escape the “Big Smoke” and moved, in 2005, to enjoy country life in Cumbria.

Mel loves being in West Cumbria and enjoys everything this great outdoor playground offers both to her and her family, whether it’s up on the Fells or kayaking on one of the beautiful lakes.

Ruth Hutchinson – Property Portfolio Assistant

Ruth works as part of the small team looking after our portfolio of properties, helping the Property Portfolio Co-ordinator in maintaining the properties to a high standard and keeping our customers happy.

Ruth has a great deal of experience in customer facing roles across a diverse and varied range of businesses.  She has “enjoyed” the challenge of getting to know the intricacies of double glazing, plumbing and social housing.

As a mother of two young energetic boys Ruth says she has little time for her own hobbies but usually manages to make some time to keep on top of her social media page and creating personalised gifts.

Judith Cameron – Lettings Manager

01900 829977 ext 303

Judith manages about 200 properties and is responsible for the day to day running of the lettings department in Cockermouth.  Judith says that the best part of her job is meeting new landlords, building a relationship with them and winning the instruction to let their property. She must have been in well over 1500 properties in her time!

Judith has had 30 years in the property industry, 20 of which with Grisdales.

She loves spending time with her family, especially at their caravan in Northumberland.   They love walking on the beaches with their Greyhound and building sandcastles.  Judith especially loves baking bread and always makes sure the family have good, healthy, home cooked food every day! She also loves swimming and kayaking, particularly in the local lakes!

Susan Taylor – Senior Sales Negotiator

01900 829977 ext 313

Susan carries out sales viewings, negotiates offers and follows the sale through to completion as well as overseeing the Sales Team in Cockermouth.

Susan previously worked in hotel management for 8 years and before that worked on a campsite whilst she was still in school. She decided on a change in direction as hotel hours weren’t very sociable and she wanted a change in direction…and she found herself with us!

Susan has quite a big family who keep her busy outside work.  She loves socialising with her friends who do “walk day Sunday” where they choose a different walk each week, normally ending up in a nice pub with a glass of red in her hand! Susan also loves getting glammed up for a night out, but at the same time loves nothing better than a duvet day with a good book and a log fire.
