LANCASTER COURT
Lancaster Court, built by McCarthy & Stone, is a modern development of 40 superb apartments located just off the town centre and is for the Over 60's. It is beautifully presented throughout and the workmanship has been completed to a high specification with attention to detail being paramount. It offers first class space all designed to give easy living for residents and discreetly offers a 24/7 call system, house manager and high security.
There is a communal lounge, kitchen and roof top terrace at second floor level (served by a lift) and owners have use of this - it's perfect for socialising and there are fabulous south facing views from the terrace! There is also a guest suite which is available for use (subject to charges).
Pets are permitted within the development.
An annual maintenance fee is payable and this includes a House Manager, 24/7 call system and full maintenance of communal areas both internally and externally as well as buildings insurance etc.
OWNERS' COMMENTS
"The apartment faces south and west. It has dual aspect windows in the living room. It is sunny and light and warm in the winter and so is more economical to heat.
The rooms are all a good size.
There are beautiful views facing both south and west. From the south, the fells in the distance and in the foreground, the castle and a picture postcard view of the town. From the west, the River Derwent can be seen in the winter when the leaves are off the trees, and in the foreground there is a field with horses.
The balcony is suitable for my 'pot garden'.
There is a Ventaxia system for ventilating the whole apartment, which is particularly useful in winter.
There is a lot going on in Cockermouth, it is a pretty town and the facilities and shops are very good."
