Say hello to Rachel, the driving force behind Grisdales! Rachel joined us in 2000 as a part-time Accounts Assistant, while also running her own accounting service for local businesses. As a single mother to three young children, she faced the challenge of balancing work and family. Though her background was in finance, Rachel was drawn to the dynamic world of estate agency and steadily expanded her role within Grisdales. By 2016, she became the full owner and now leads our two-branch agency serving West Cumbria.
Rachel is passionate about customer service and believes that building a strong reputation and earning community trust are vital to success in our close-knit area. As a lifelong learner, she’s dedicated to continuous growth, both personally and professionally. A member of ARLA, Rachel stays ahead of industry trends and is constantly refining her expertise through programs like the Property Academy’s Leadership Summit.
At home, Rachel enjoys life with her husband Neil, their blended family of six children, and a growing number of grandchildren. Despite her busy schedule, she always makes time to hike the Lake District fells with her dog, Bonny, and soak in the stunning views.

Meet Laura, our Sales Progression Manager. Once a sale is agreed on your property, Laura steps in to oversee the transaction through to completion. With nearly a third of house sales falling through last year, her role is crucial in keeping everything on track and providing peace of mind during this critical phase. She coordinates with solicitors, surveyors, mortgage advisors, buyers’ agents, and other key parties, ensuring everyone stays informed and addressing any issues promptly to ensure the process runs as smoothly as possible. Previously our Property Marketing Manager, she brings extensive experience and a unique perspective that supports clients throughout their property journey.
Before joining us, Laura had a career background in banking and dental nursing. Her Level 3 ILM certification in Management and her natural people skills make her a superstar when it comes to connecting with others. Plus, with around 30 different homes under her belt since she was 20, she knows a thing or two about the property market!
Originally from the South of England, Laura has called Workington home for quite some time. But she’s always up for visiting her family and friends down south. When she’s not hard at work, you’ll find Laura having a blast running around Whinlatter Forest with her two grandsons, embracing her inner child. She’s also a social butterfly who loves dining out, cooking, and going on exciting adventures. Whether it’s a quick city break or a sun-soaked getaway, Laura has a passion for exploring new places.
